Cyrus Mistry funeral: The body of Cyrus Mistry will be brought to the Worli crematorium today

The last rites of former Tata Sons chairman and industrialist Cyrus Pallonji Mistry will be performed on Tuesday morning. Cyrus Mistry (54) died in a road accident near Mumbai on Sunday. His last rites will be performed at the Worli crematorium. His family had reached Mumbai on Monday night itself. Mistry's body will be taken to the Worli crematorium this morning and his last rites will be performed at 11 am.

Many relatives are reaching Mumbai

According to a statement, Mistry is survived by his wife Rohika, sons Firoz and Jahan, mother Patsy Mistry, sisters Laila Rustam Jehangir and A Noel Tata and brother Shapoor Mistry. A family member said that till tonight some relatives are reaching Mumbai. Tomorrow Mistry's body will be taken to Worli crematorium and the last rites will be performed at 11 am. Along with Mistry, his friend and well-known industrialist Jehangir Pandole also died in a road accident. The bodies of both have been kept in the mortuary of the Government JJ Hospital here. 

How did the accident took place

According to Palghar police, Anayata Pandole was driving the vehicle at high speed. She had tried to overtake another vehicle in the wrong direction (from left) and her husband, JM Financial CEO Darius Pandole, was seated next to her. Jahangir Pandole was sitting on the back seat of the car. The front seat airbags were opened due to the collision but the rear airbags did not open at the right time. If they had opened, Cyrus Mistry could have survived. As per the manual, at least seven airbags have been provided in the Mercedes GLC 220d.
