There is a danger of flood in the national capital Delhi. The water level of Yamuna river has crossed the danger mark on Tuesday afternoon. The water level had crossed the danger mark on Monday night itself and the Yamuna is now rising continuously. In view of the possibility of floods in Delhi, the administration has issued a warning to the people living on the banks of the river. On behalf of the administration, people are being appealed to go to a safe place.

Danger Mark of Yamuna River

The water level of Yamuna river reached 206.30 meters at 2 pm on Tuesday afternoon. The danger mark of Yamuna river is 205.33 meters.

In view of the ever-increasing water level in Yamuna river, Shahdara district administration has closed the old iron bridge on Tuesday. Due to the closure of the bridge, the movement of rail and other vehicles has stopped. Administration officials have taken this decision after talking to the Railways and Delhi Traffic Police.

Significantly, three lakh cusecs of water has been released into Yamuna from Hathni Kund barrage. This water will soon reach the Yamuna river. Will reach Faridabad border after three days. In view of the possibility of floods, the administration has directed the concerned officials to monitor the situation. Along with this, the local people have been asked not to allow animals and children to go towards the river.
