Delhi MCD Election: AAP's Transgender candidate Bobby Kinnar won

The Aam Aadmi Party is maintaining an edge in the Municipal Corporation elections in Delhi, meanwhile, there is a news that Delhi's most famous eunuch Aam Aadmi Party candidate Bobby has won from Sultanpuri-A ward. Bobby was up against BJP's Ekta Jatav and Congress's Varun Dhaka. Local voters reposed faith in Bobby and gave him a record victory. This victory was challenging for Bobby in many ways because after the new delimitation, the seat of Sultanpuri-A ward was reserved for a Scheduled Caste woman.

Bobby defeated Varun Dhaka of Congress. He got a total of 14,831 votes in these elections while Varun got 8,107 votes. Bobby was associated with the Aam Aadmi Party for a long time. This is the reason why he was given ticket in the civic elections this time. Bobby, 38, has studied till ninth standard. She has been in public life for a long time and was associated with people through her NGO. Bobby came into limelight for the first time in the year 2017 when he decided to contest the MCD elections as an independent. Later she became a part of Aam Aadmi Party. Bobby was also associated with the Anna movement

Bobby comments on the victory

After claiming the victory Bobby said “I want to beautify my area. My priority is to improve people's lives. I will work towards ending corruption from MCD." This was the first time when a big political party fielded a candidate from the Kinnar community. Even in the Aam Aadmi Party's survey before the election, Bobby was found right for victory. This is the reason why the party gave him the ticket.
