Delhi MCD Election Result 2022: Why did Arvind Kejriwal seek PM Modi's blessings after the victory?

The Aam Aadmi Party has achieved a clear majority by performing brilliantly in the MCD elections. The party has shown the way out to the BJP, which has been ruling the MCD for 15 years. Now there is Aam Aadmi Party government in both Delhi State and Delhi Municipal Corporation. In this happiness, the party's convenor and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, expressing gratitude to the public, told PM Modi that we need your blessings as well.

Kejriwal also sought help from the Center during this period. He said, 'The help of the central government is also needed, the cooperation of the central government is also needed. I want the Prime Minister's blessings to fix Delhi. I want his and the central government's blessings as well. To fix Delhi, the duty of women, children and elders will be taken. Alone I will not be able to do anything, everyone will have to work together. We also have to remove corruption. The whole system that was running till now, all this has to be finished. Just like we cleaned up the Delhi government, now the municipal corporation has to do the same.

Election seats won

In the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) elections, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) won 134 seats, crossing the majority mark. While Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has won 104 seats and Congress has won 9 seats. Three independent candidates, including Shakeela Begum, have also emerged victorious from Seelampur ward in  North East Delhi.
