Counting of votes is going on in 250 wards of Municipal Corporation of Delhi and Aam Aadmi Party is leading in the initial trends. The Aam Aadmi Party is being predicted to get 134 to 146 seats. Enthused by the results, Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann has also reached Delhi.
With the results of MCD elections coming in favor of Aam Aadmi Party, celebrations have started in AAP's office. Aam Aadmi Party has got majority in the trends. However, BJP is still seen giving a tough fight. At the same time, Congress is also leading on 10 seats. However, till now the Congress was leading only in 4-5 seats. Voting was held on 250 seats of MCD on 4 December. A total of 1349 candidates are in the fray in 250 wards in these elections. BJP is in control of Delhi MCD for the last 15 years.
On the other hand, on AAP's victory in MCD, Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia tweeted that heartfelt gratitude to the people of Delhi for trusting Aam Aadmi Party in Delhi MCD. By defeating the world's biggest negative party, the people of Delhi made Arvind Kejriwal, a staunch, honest and hard worker, win. For us it is not just a victory but a big responsibility.
