The air of Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) has reached a critical condition. The air has become so toxic that people have to be hospitalized. The Air Quality Index has reached alarming levels in Delhi and Noida. Cases of pneumonia and chest infection have increased.

There are reports of many people being admitted to the ICU in different hospitals after complaining of worsening pneumonia and chest infections. Burning in the chest and eyes, pneumonia and a suffocating climate are making people of all age groups sick.

Health experts demand that medical emergency should be implemented in Delhi. Health experts have termed the problems caused by pollution even as a medical emergency.

Pollution becomes fatal for the brain of children and elderly

The President of Medanta further said that the way the air remains toxic in Delhi, it can have a long lasting effect on children and the elderly. Pollution can make children irritable by nature. The problem of neuro-inflammation in children is common due to the toxins of the pollutants. Pollution can increase the risk of brain stroke by 10 times in the elderly.
