In the landslide election on Thursday, Droupadi Murmu made history by defeating the opposition's Yashwant Sinha and became India's first tribal president. After a day-long counting of the MPs' and MLAs' ballots, which make up the electoral college, Murmu, 64, defeated Sinha by a landslide after earning more than 64% of legitimate votes. He will succeed Ram Nath Kovind as the nation's 15th president. After more than 10 hours of counting were completed, returning officer P C Mody announced Murmu as the winner, noting that she received 6,76,803 votes against Sinha's 3,80,177.

Droupadi Murmu has seen her loved ones parting very closely. According to the media reports, from the year 2010 to 2014, three meanings were raised from his house. Within these four years, her two sons and husband have died. The death of the eldest son remains a mystery even today. Don't know how his eldest son died. It is said that his body was found from the room and he returned home late one evening. The eldest son's name was Laxman Murmu, he died at the age of just 25. While the younger son (Biranchi Murmu) died in a road accident, Biranchi was 28 years old at that time. On October 1, 2014, her husband also left her forever.
