Draupadi Murmu’s speech

Draupadi Murmu gave her first speech after taking the oath of office in the Central Hall of Parliament House. He said, I am the first President of the country, who was born in independent India. We have to step up our efforts to fulfil the expectations of our freedom fighters along with the citizens of independent India. Draupadi Murmu said, I was born in a tribal village in Odisha. But it is the power of the country's democracy that brought me this far.

Vice President and Rajya Sabha Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi , Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, members of the Council of Ministers, Governors, Chief Ministers of different states, heads of diplomatic missions, MPs, military officers including prominent civilians attended the swearing-in ceremony.

Outgoing President Ram Nath Kovind on Sunday hosted a dinner for the elected President Draupadi Murmu, Vice President Venkaiah Naidu, PM Modi and the Union Council of Ministers at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
