Draupadi Murmu, who reached Delhi to file nomination, met PM Narendra Modi

NDA President Candidate Draupadi Murmu reached Delhi to file nomination, during which she was welcomed by BJP workers at Delhi Airport. On reaching Delhi, Murmu was received at the airport by Union Ministers Arjun Munda, Arjun Ram Meghwal and Dr. Virendra Kumar and BJP leader Manoj Tiwari. She will file her nomination on Friday, June 24.

Draupadi Murmu meets Narendra Modi

After some time PM Narendra Modi also met her. Sharing a picture of Mrs Murmu presenting a bouquet, the PM tweeted, "Her presidential candidacy has been appreciated across India by all sections of society. Her understanding of the problems on the ground and her vision for India's development is unmatched.” Sources said that his nomination papers are being prepared at Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi's residence. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, senior ministers Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah and BJP national president JP Nadda will be among his proposers.

PM Modi said that Draupadi Murmu devoted her life in the service of the society and empowerment of the poor, downtrodden and exploited. He has rich administrative experience and his tenure as Governor was also excellent. I am sure she will prove to be a great President of our country.

Murmu before leaving for Delhi

In a brief statement in Odisha before leaving for the national capital, Murmu had said, "I thank everyone and seek cooperation from everyone for the presidential election." I will meet all the voters (MPs) before July 18 and seek their support.

If she wins the election, she will be India's first tribal president and the second woman to hold the position. Voting for the presidency will be held on July 18. current president Ramnath  Kovind. His term ends on July 24.
