Drug Free Punjab: Punjab government's action plan against drugs, CM Bhagwant Mann made a strategy

The Bhagwant Mann government has prepared an action plan against Drugs being the biggest problem for Punjab. CM Bhagwant Mann has said that in order to tackle the problem of drug addiction, the government will take the support of those drug addicted youth, who have given up drugs with their courage. CM Bhagwant Mann had a meeting with all the DC's and SP's of Punjab regarding drugs and told them that he would not tolerate any relaxation regarding drugs.

CM Bhagwant Mann tweeted and wrote – “Today a meeting of DC and SSP has been called, instructions have been given to all the SSPs that those who sell drugs should not be spared at any cost. We are waging a big war against drugs, we will not stop till a full stop is imposed on the drug trade. They are also planning on a large scale for the rehabilitation of drug-addicted youth.”

AAP’s action plan against the drug problem

Bhagwant Mann said that the youth would be taken out of drugs in three phases. They will first be given medical treatment, after that they will be tracked, so that it can be found that they do not fall into the addiction again.

CM said that after this, efforts will also be made to provide him employment, so that he does not fall into drugs again. Bhagwant Mann said that in whichever district someone was caught selling drugs, whether it was caught by the STF or the district police, a case should be registered against him immediately. He said that the SSP of the district or police station area where the drug would be sold and the SHO of the concerned police station would be made accountable.

Mann was targeted for the drug problem in Punjab

The drug trade is increasing a lot in Punjab, the youth of the state are becoming a victim of it. Recently, Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu had targeted Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann by sharing a video of some place in Faridkot district. Sidhu had said that there exists a nexus between drug peddlers, police and politicians in Punjab, which is yet to be broken. Because the government of Punjab is not able to tighten the curb on the drug trade. At the time of assembly elections, AAP had promised the people of Punjab that it would make Punjab a drug-free state.
