According to the National Center for Seismology, an organization that monitors earthquakes, the epicenter of the earthquake was where the Neri Khad meets the Beas river near Ropardu in Mandi. The intensity of this earthquake was measured at 4.1 on the Richter scale. At present, there is no news of any loss of life or property due to this earthquake. Apart from being a hilly region, Himachal Pradesh is counted among the most sensitive areas from the point of view of earthquakes. It comes in Seismic Zone 4 and 5, which means that there is a danger of severe earthquakes here.
According to information received from the Meteorological Center Shimla, the intensity of the earthquake was 4.1 on the Richter scale. Its center was five kilometers deep inside the ground. Director of Meteorological Center Shimla Surendra Pal said that due to the low intensity of the earthquake, there was no damage. Even before this, earthquakes of medium to mild intensity have been felt in the Mandi district several times.
