Earthquake tremors in Ladakh after Indonesia Earthquake, intensity measured at 4.3 on Richter scale

Earthquake tremors have been felt in the Union Territory of Ladakh, located in the north of the country. The intensity of this earthquake, which occurred today, has been measured at 4.3 on the Richter scale. The tremors of the earthquake were felt at 10.05 am. Earlier on Tuesday morning, a strong earthquake of 7.3 magnitudes was felt southwest of Malango in the Solomon Islands after Indonesia.

162 people died in Indonesia earthquake

In Indonesia's capital Jakarta, many big buildings collapsed in a jolt of the earthquake on Monday. So far 162 people have died here due to the earthquake. Hundreds of people were injured. The intensity of the earthquake was 5.6. Here many people are still buried under the debris of the buildings. A rescue operation is going on to save them. 

The epicenter of the earthquake was near the city of Cianjur in a mountainous region of Indonesia's most populous province. People got scared due to the tremors of the earthquake on Monday afternoon and were forced to leave their homes and run on the streets. Buildings collapsed due to the earthquake. The parking lot of the hospital in Cianjur was filled with victims throughout the night. Some were treated in makeshift tents.

Earthquake intensity 

Earthquakes with a magnitude of less than 2.0 on the Richter scale are classified as micro and cannot be felt. 8,000 earthquakes of micro category on the Richter scale are recorded daily worldwide. Similarly, earthquakes with a magnitude of 2.0 to 2.9 are kept in the minor category. 1,000 such earthquakes occur daily, we do not even normally feel it. Very light earthquakes of magnitude 3.0 to 3.9 are recorded 49,000 times in a year. They are felt but hardly cause any harm.
