Punjab Encounter: An encounter between Police and Gangsters took place in Bassi Pathana of Fatehgarh Sahib, Punjab. The Anti Gangster Task Force was chasing three gangsters in a Thar jeep.
Two killed, one died during treatment
Police killed two gangsters in Bassi Pathana. At the same time, a gangster was injured, who later died during treatment. Along with this, two policemen have also been injured, who have been hit by bullets.
Case against the Gangsters
One of the gangsters killed is recognised as Teja Mehandipuria, who was involved in more than 40 criminal cases in Punjab. The gangsters were involved in the January 8 murder case of constable Kuldeep Singh Bajwa, who was part of a police team and was chasing gangsters who had robbed a car at gunpoint in Phillaur’s Kangjagir village. Kuldeep Singh Bajwa was shot by the gangsters during the chase, leading to his death during treatment.
