Indian Ambassador Taranjit Singh Sandhu honored Google and Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai with the Padma Bhushan, one of the country's highest civilian awards, in San Francisco, US. Sandhu said on Twitter that it was a pleasure to hand over the Padma Bhushan to Google and Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai in San Francisco.
When Pichai was honored with this award, he said that whatever I am today has been possible because of India. India has shaped me. I am deeply grateful to the Government of India and the people of India for this honour. India is a part of me, and I look forward to continuing the great partnership between Google and India as we work together to bring the benefits of technology to more people. The 50-year-old Pichai accepted the award from India's ambassador to the US, Taranjit Singh Sandhu.
Sharing his experience, he said, "I look forward to continuing the great partnership between Google and India, as we work together to bring the benefits of technology to more people. Prime Minister Modi's Digital India vision That's certainly been a big reason for that progress, and I'm proud that Google continues to invest in India, partnering with governments, businesses and communities over two transformative decades."
