Google makes writing emails and documents easy, integrates AI in Gmail and Google Docs

Google has announced the addition of AI-powered tools for use by people, companies, and communities in Google Workspace. In other words, Google is integrating AI-powered tools into Google Documents and Gmail so that users can rapidly write, edit, and create new topics. While the tools resemble those of GhatGPT or Bing, Google is going a step further to make users' jobs easier by integrating an AI-powered writing tool into Documents and Gmail. As a result, users will be able to use AI technologies within the workspace without needing to consult another website or browser for assistance.

What will the new features be?

The new features include the ability to create AI imagery, audio, and video to illustrate presentations in Slides (similar to features in both Microsoft Designer, powered by OpenAI's DALL-E, and Canva, powered by Stable Diffusion) and new ways to generate, summarise, and brainstorm text with AI in Google Docs (similar to how many people use OpenAI's ChatGPT).

Additional features of the AI-integrated Gmail and Docs will include:

  • Your Gmail draughts, replies, sums up, and prioritizes messages.

  • In Documents, generate ideas, edit them, and then rework them.

  • Slides' automatically generated graphics, audio, and video may help you bring your creative vision to life.

  • Use auto-completion, formula generation, and contextual classification in Sheets to transform raw data into insights and analysis.

  • Create fresh backgrounds and note-taking in Meet

  • Allow workflows in Chat to complete tasks

Google talks about new AI addition

Google said " Sometimes the AI gets things wrong, sometimes it delights you with something offbeat, and oftentimes it requires guidance. With all this in mind, we're designing our products in accordance with Google's AI Principles that keep the user in control, letting AI make suggestions that you're able to accept, edit, and change," Google is already handing out the new generative AI experiences to select testers throughout the year before making them available to the general public. Later, everyone will have access to it.
