Gujarat Election 2022: Enthusiasm among elderly voters, 100-year-old Kamuben cast her vote

In Gujarat Assembly Elections 2022 voting is going on in 89 seats for the first phase. For voting, huge enthusiasm is being seen among young to old voters. People are actively participating in the voting for the first phase of Gujarat Assembly elections. 100 year old Kamuben Lalabhai Patel has cast his vote in Umargam.

9.8 lakh senior citizen voters in Gujarat

A crowd of elderly people was seen at a polling booth in Bharuch. Some had come on a wheelchair to cast their vote, while some had come with a stick. In the midst of the ongoing first phase of voting in Gujarat, there was a lot of enthusiasm among the senior citizens. So right there, before reaching the wedding hall at the polling booth in Botad, a bride reached the polling booth to exercise her franchise and cast her vote. According to Chief Election Commissioner Rajeev Kumar, there are 9.8 lakh senior citizen voters in Gujarat.

Special arrangements for elderly voters

This time, special arrangements have been made for senior voters of 80 to 100 years in the Gujarat Assembly Elections 2022. Arrangements have been made from bringing them to the polling station till reaching home. If the person is not in a position to reach the polling station, then the election officer will go to his house and provide him the facility to vote. For this a form has to be filled. Videography of the form filling process will be done.
