The festival of Holi is celebrated in Braj, Uttar Pradesh on Rangbharni Ekadashi. From Mathura to Vrindavan, vibrant colours of ecstatic faith are being spread all over. In the world-famous Sri Banke Bihari temple of Vrindavan, Thakur Banke Bihari, the adoration of the people, wearing a white dress, seated on a silver throne, worshipped by the devotees.
On Rangbharni Ekadashi, Thakur Banke Bihari showered colours on the devotees with gold and silver pitchers. After this tradition, Holi with colours started in the temple. There is a huge crowd of devotees in the temple on this occasion.
On Rangbharni Ekadashi, grand celebrations of Holi are being organized at Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi in Mathura. There was a long queue of devotees outside the temple since morning to enter the Janmabhoomi. It is raining colours on the temple premises.
According to Acharya Prahlad Vallabh Goswami, Sevayat of Banke Bihari Temple, pure saffron colour has been made for Sri Banke Bihari on Rangbharni Ekadashi. First of all, Sevayat pours colour on Thakurji dressed in white clothes made of gold and silver pichkari, only after this the traditional celebration of Holi begins. He told that Holi is played in the temple with the colours of Tesu as well as Chova, Sandalwood and Abir Gulal. This Holi starts from Rangbharni Ekadashi and continues till the full moon evening.
Temple servant Raghu Goswami told that on the day of Dhulaidi, Thakurji does not pour color on the devotees, but sits on the golden throne wearing a pink dress and watches his devotees playing Holi. On the same day, chaupai (excursion) is taken out in the area by the services of the temple in the morning. Singing in groups is accompanied by congratulatory songs.

During the Holi festival, Thakurji is definitely offered a special blog( offering) of chaat, jalebi, thandai. Apart from this, Dumplings, Dalpakodi, Dahibra, Gujiya, Sonth Bada Gujiya, water cake, dry ginger-curd-chutney cake, Khaja, Samosa, Alugola etc. are offered to Bihariji. Saffron, almonds, cashew nuts, pistachios, poppy seeds, melon seeds, fennel, black pepper, gulkand, milk mixed thandai are offered to God.
There is a circumambulation of Vrindavan on Rangbharni Ekadashi. On this day lakhs of devotees circumambulate Vrindavan while blowing Gulal. With this sentiment, there was a huge influx of devotees on Monday to give Panchkosiya Parikrama of Vrindavan. The parikramars performed the parikrama of Vrindavan with reverence, devotion and faith.
