Honda Cars India, the premium car maker in India, in May launched its much-awaited new 2022 Honda City e:HEV Hybrid (Honda City Hybrid) in the country. The New City e:HEV is the first car in the mainstream segment to be equipped with Strong Hybrid Electric Technology. Let’s take a look at its specifications.
The upcoming Honda City Hybrid will be powered by a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder, naturally aspirated Atkinson Cycle petrol engine with two electric motors and a lithium-ion battery. The petrol engine generates 97bhp and 127Nm of torque. The smaller electric engine is an integrated starter generator while the bigger electric motor drives the wheels and has an output of 108bhp and 253Nm of torque. This electric motor is mated to Honda’s eCVT while at speeds of above 120kmph, the ICE drives the wheels directly via a lockup clutch.
On the inside, the City hybrid gets a updated 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, an eight-speaker premium sound system, ambient lighting, electric sunroof, and an updated version of Honda Connect with Amazon Echo, Google assistant, and smartwatch (iOS and Android) integration.
The City Hybrid is likely to be priced at around Rs 18.5 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
