Indian Air Force (IAF) was established on 8th October 1932, but the Indian Air Force (IAF) actually took wings on 1st April 1933.
Indian Air Force (IAF) is the fourth largest air force across the globe, with the US, China, and Russia being the top three.
Indian Air Force motto is “Nabham Sparsham Deeptham”, which means “Touch the sky with Glory.”
Indian Air Force employs more than 1,400 aircraft and 1,70,000 personnel.
The Indian Government in January 2002, granted the Air Force Marshal Rank to Arjan Singh, thereby making him the first and the only five-star officer with the Indian Air Force and ceremonial chief of Air Force.
Since India’s independence, the Indian Air Force (IAF) has been involved in four wars with Pakistan, and one with the People’s Republic of China.
The different operations carried out by the Indian Air Force (IAF) are Operation Meghdoot, Operation Cactus, Operation Vijay- Invasion of Goa, and Operation Poomalai.
Indian Air Force has also been involved in the United Nations Peacekeeping missions.
The Indian Air Force is categorized into five operational commands, and two functional commands.
