IAF's MiG-21 Plane Crash: MiG-21 crashes in Rajasthan's Barmer, Airforce orders investigation

Another MiG-21 aircraft of the Indian Air Force has crashed. This accident happened late Thursday evening in Barmer, Rajasthan. Both the pilots aboard the plane died in the crash. In this case, the Air Force has ordered an inquiry by the Court of Inquiry. Late in the night, the Air Force occupied about half a kilometer area around the spot. The Air Force is engaged in collecting the scattered debris and investigating the matter. As soon as the information about the incident was received, more than 100 jawans and Air Force officers were present on the spot.

Rajnath Singh comments on the matter

Some videos of the accident have surfaced, in which the wreckage of the plane is on fire after the incident. The body parts of the aircraft are scattered. A mobile phone was also broken nearby. Where the plane fell, there has been a big crater within a radius of 15 feet. This is the eighth case of a military plane crash in Barmer in 9 years.

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh condoled the incident, tweeting that, "Deeply saddened by the loss of two air warriors in the crash of a MiG-21 trainer aircraft of the Indian Air Force near Barmer in Rajasthan. His service to the nation will never be forgotten. My thoughts are with the bereaved family in this hour of grief."

Air Force comment on the crash

After the crash of the fighter jet, the horrific video of the crashed MiG-21 has surfaced on the news agency ANI. The Air Force said, 'Evidence is being sought about this accident.' At the same time, Barmer District Collector Lok Bandhu told news agency PTI, 'It was an Air Force plane that crashed near Bhimda village. Both the pilots have been martyred in the plane crash.

Issuing a statement on this accident, IF said that both the pilots of MiG-21 trainer aircraft have been martyred in the accident. The Indian Air Force deeply regrets the martyrdom of the pilots. The Air Force stands firmly with the bereaved family in this hour of grief. The Air Force has ordered a Court of Inquiry to know the reason behind the accident.
