Weather Update: IMD alerts rain; cold to return?

Ahead of the Holi festival, the weather is pleasant in most areas of North India. Snowfall and rain is continuously going on in the hilly areas, and people haven’t got relief from the cold.

Talking about the plains, the heat is continuously increasing, with the mercury almost reaching near 40 degrees, making people use fans even at night.

IMD said that the average maximum temperature in Delhi for the month of February this year has been recorded at 27.7 degrees Celsius, the third highest in the last 63 years. The city had registered an average maximum temperature of 27.9 degrees Celsius in February at Safdarjung station in 1960. As per the data, in 2006, the temperature stood at 29.7 degrees Celsius and the reading for the year 2023 stands at 27.7 degrees Celsius.
