The Jammu and Kashmir government on Tuesday has ordered the closure of educational activities in all schools run by the Falah-e-Aam Trust, an affiliate of the local Jamaat-e-Islami. The Principal Secretary, School Education Department said that all educational activities in the schools of Jammu and Kashmir run by the 'Falah-e-Aam' Trust will now stop immediately.

The local Jamaat-e-Islami organization has already been banned by the Jammu and Kashmir government. All these schools will be sealed in 15 days. Students studying in these will be accommodated in nearby schools. There will be no admission in these schools in the new session.

Main reason behind sealing the schools

The information about the illegal occupation of these schools has been received from the investigation of the State Investigation Agency (SIA). After this, an order to seal these schools was issued on behalf of the Principal Secretary, School Education Department, BK Singh. With this, all the Chief Education Officers, Principals and Zonal Officers have been asked to help the students studying in these schools so far in getting admission in other schools.

These schools had fraudulently encroached upon government lands on a large scale. All these schools are affiliated to FAT radical Jamaat-e-Islami, which has been banned by the Ministry of Home Affairs under the provisions of the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act.

FIR registered

Officials said that the SIA has already registered an FIR in such a case and the agency is expanding the scope of the investigation to unearth all the frauds, unauthorized entities and forgery that have been committed at the behest of terrorists in the last 30 years.

Such institutions played a negative role in causing massive unrest in 2008, 2010 and 2016, causing great hardship to the common people. Interestingly, almost all FAT schools with more than 300 numbers have been found to be located on illegally acquired government and community land.
