75th Independence Day 2021:
In a special conversation with some of the heroes of our Indian Army, Indian Navy, and Indian Air Force, who have served our nation and have witnessed the struggle of India’s Independence in 1947, we bring to you some of the untold stories from India’s Independence, struggles of India’s Defense Forces and what is the Defense next 5 years plan, ahead of the 75th Independence Day 2021.
So, starting with Major General (retd.) G.D. Bakshi, the retired officer shares that the Indian Army has a major contribution to India’s Independence. Adding further, he shared that India got its Independence in 1947 after the Azad Hind Fauj’z trials became a hit among Indians, and in February 1946, the Indian Navy rebelled against the Britishers. While most of the Indians contributed to the Non-Cooperation movement and raised slogans in favor of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, which stirred the British Government and laid the foundation of Indian Independence in 1947.
Lieutenant-General Mohan Bhandari shares that India must have to be careful in the coming times, however, the country has laid a specific example of its Atma-Nirbharta (self-reliance). Mohan further shares that India has recently introduced INS Vikrant, an indigenous Aircraft carrier to the waters in Kochi.
(Retd.) Major General PK Sehgal shares that the future of Indian Defense will be totally different, as the upcoming wars will be cyber-centric, loaded with Artificial Intelligence. The Indian Defense is also going to possess hyper-velocity missiles, laser missiles, EMP weapons in the near future.
Retired Colonel Tara shares that he along with his family has been a part of India’s freedom struggle. He stated that during the Second World War, Britain had a lot of casualties and many other losses, which can also be considered a reason behind India’s Independence. However, he adds further that, Indians at that time we so full of patriotism, which otherwise would have resulted in India’s Independence soon.
