External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Thursday said India's relations with China cannot normalize until peace is established in the border areas and there was no ambiguity in New Delhi's signals to that country. Jaishankar said in the program of a media house, "Till the time there is no atmosphere of peace in the border areas, unless agreements are followed and unilateral attempts to change the status quo are not stopped, then relations cannot be normal and neither It's normal.'

Some issues still need to be resolved

On the clashes in Galvan Valley, he said, "What happened in 2020 was a one-party effort and we know who it was, who walked out of the agreement and this issue is the most important." Jaishankar said, 'Have we made progress since then? In some ways, yes.

There were several conflicting points. The forces at those points were dangerously positioned, I think some of those issues have been resolved keeping in mind the common and mutual security. But there are some issues which still need to be worked on. The important thing is to keep looking and keep moving forward. He expressed hope that China will realize that the current situation is not in its interest either.
