India creates history by administering 2.5 crore Covid-19 vaccines in a day, on PM Modi's 71st birthday

India sets Covid-19 vaccination record:

To win the fight against the Coronavirus pandemic, the country set a new record yesterday, i.e., on 17th September 2021, the 71st Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday. 

To make PM Narendra Modi's 71st birthday historic, more than 20 million people were vaccinated during the Covid-19 vaccination drive, across the nation. The speed of the vaccination program on this special occasion can be gauged from the fact that more than 527 doses were administered every second i.e. more than 19 lakh doses were given every hour all across India. 

Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya tweeted sharing the information and congratulating the people of India. It must be noted that BJP had already announced to celebrate this day as 'Seva Diwas' on the occasion of PM Modi's birthday. It was said on behalf of the party that on this day a special program of mega vaccination would be run across the country.

Karnataka administered the most Covid-19 vaccines:

On Friday, Karnataka topped the charts of Covid-19 vaccination by administering doses to 26.92 lakh people. Health and Family Welfare and Medical Education Minister K Sudhakar gave this information on the basis of data till 9 PM.

According to a statement issued by the minister's office, more than 26.6 lakh doses were given in Bihar followed by Karnataka. On the other hand, more than 24.8 lakh doses were given in Uttar Pradesh, more than 23.7 lakh doses were given in Madhya Pradesh and more than 20.4 lakh doses were given in Gujarat. There were 88.09 lakh vaccinations against Corona in the country on 21st June and 1.03 crore on 27th August.
