Arvind Kejriwal, the national convener of Aam Aadmi Party, has announced his CM candidate in Gujarat. Kejriwal has declared Isudan Gadhvi as the CM face for Gujarat. Kejriwal had held a press conference in Surat on 29 October and asked people who he wanted to see as CM. In Gujarat, the Election Commission has announced the dates for the assembly elections. There are a total of 182 assembly seats in Gujarat, on which voting is to be held in two phases.
In the Press Conference CM Kejriwal said ”For 27 years in Gujarat, the people of Gujarat did not have any option. Earlier in Gujarat, the electoral battle was fought only between Congress and BJP, but today Aam Aadmi Party has emerged as an option near Gujarat. We do not decide who will be the CM sitting in the room. We take a decision by asking the public about it. All surveys will fail in Gujarat and Aam Aadmi Party will form the government in Gujarat. “
A week ago, the Aam Aadmi Party had asked its supporters and workers to register their choice of chief ministerial candidate in Gujarat through email, phone calls, SMS and WhatsApp messages. Arvind Kejriwal said that the numbers that were released received a response of about 16.5 lakh people. Earlier, the Aam Aadmi Party on Thursday announced its 9th list of 10 candidates for the Gujarat elections , taking the number of candidates declared so far to 118.
