BCCI Secretary Jai Shah has been given an important responsibility in the ICC. Jai Shah will handle the key to the vault of World Cricket from now on. Jai Shah has been elected as the head of the Finance and Commercial Affairs Committee of the ICC. This committee decides the budget allocation for ICC events and looks after the distribution of funds to the member countries.
Dhumal will be a member of the Chief Executive Committee. According to ESPNcricinfo, Shah will also be a member of the F&CA and will replace former Cricket Ireland president Ross McCullum, who is set to retire soon. The next meeting is to be held in March 2023. According to the news agency PTI, an ICC source said, “Every member has accepted Jay Shah as the head of the Finance and Commercial Affairs Committee. Apart from the ICC chairman, it is an equally powerful sub-committee.
An ICC source said, “India is the commercial center of global cricket and more than 70 percent of the sponsorships come from this region. Therefore it is necessary that the Finance and Commercial Affairs Committee of the ICC should always be headed by the BCCI. Former Indian captain Ganguly, who ended his term as BCCI president last month, will continue to head the ICC's Cricket Committee.
