Jammu Kashmir:

A Pakistani terrorist was apprehended and another gunned down last evening while stopping an infiltration bid by the Army along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir's Uri. Several operations have been going on in the Uri and Rampur sectors from the last one week after the Army intercepted three infiltration bids.

Official sources say that one terrorist was killed and another Pakistani terrorist was caught during a live operation yesterday.

While on the night of 18th -19th September 2021, an infiltration attempt was made by Pakistani terrorists along the Line of Control in the Uri sector. Taking advantage of the thick darkness, Pakistan gave shelter to the terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba and six terrorists tried to infiltrate from the general area of Pakistani post Jabri.

During the infiltration attempt, when two terrorists were crossing the Line of Control, when the patrol team reached there, four terrorists ran back from the Line of Control towards PoK, while the remaining two terrorists managed to enter their territory.

The surrendered terrorist has revealed that his group of six terrorists was mainly from Pakistani Punjab. He is a resident of Dipalpur in district Okara. After losing his father early, he was misled due to poverty and lured to join Lashkar-e-Taiba.

It must be noted that this is the first time in recent years that a Pakistani terrorist has been caught trying to enter India. A few days back, the Indian army had killed three infiltrators and recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition, including five AK rifles and 70 grenades.
