Three terrorists were killed on Thursday by security forces near the Line of Control (LoC) in Uri of Baramulla district of Kashmir. During this, the security forces foiled an infiltration attempt along the LoC, in which 3 terrorists were killed. The security forces also recovered a cache of arms and ammunition from these terrorists.
The officials themselves have given information about this attack. "We noticed some suspicious movement in the Hathlanga area along the Line of Control. The infiltrators were challenged and three of them were gunned down," an army official said. He said a large number of arms and ammunition including 5 assault rifles, 7 pistols, and grenades have been recovered.
Briefing the media at the Army's Chinar Corps Headquarters here, General Officer Commanding Lt Gen DP Pandey said that infiltration activities have increased recently from the other side of the Line of Control. "Though there has been no infiltration since the beginning of the year. There have been few activities which could not have happened without the knowledge of the commanders of the Pakistan Army," he said.
Lt Gen Pandey said the infiltration attempt was foiled on Thursday and it was different from the previous attempt on 18th -19th September. According to reports, as soon as the security forces got information about the presence of terrorists, they immediately started action. However, a security forces officer was also injured during the process.
Punjab Police has arrested three terrorists with arms and explosives in the Tarn Taran district of Punjab. The three terrorists were planning to commit some serious incident in Punjab, while police have started a search operation in the entire area. According to the information, these three terrorists are residents of the Moga district of Punjab. They have been identified as Kulwinder Singh resident of village Rauli, Kamalpreet Singh Mann resident of Ward 6 Moga, Kanwar Pal Singh resident of Govind Basti.
