JK: Grief, anger, helplessness... Another Kashmiri Pandit killed in the Valley, Protest amid terror attacks

In the Chaudhary Gund area of District Shopian, terrorists shot and bled Kashmiri Pandit Pooran Krishna Bhat. Thereafter the terrorists fled. He has been taken to a nearby hospital. He lost the battle of life in the hospital. At the same time, as soon as the information was received, the team of police and security forces reached the spot. The area has been cordoned off. The search is on for the terrorists.

Kashmir Freedom fighters took responsibility

The terrorist organization 'Kashmir Freedom Fighters’ has claimed responsibility for this murder. They issued a letter saying- We had already warned to attack such Kashmiri Pandits and non-local people who are working on the agenda of the government. At the same time, protests have also started in Shopian regarding the murder of Puran Krishna. People blocked the road and raised slogans when the Kashmiri Pandit was targeted. During this, he demanded the government to take necessary steps for the safety of Kashmiri Pandits.

DOG gives statement

Confirming the attack, Sujit Kumar, DIG of Jammu and Kashmir Police said that Kashmiri Pandit Puran Bhat was murdered. Intense investigation is being done in this matter. The KFF has claimed responsibility for the attack, but cannot say anything for sure as of now, the investigation is ongoing. 

A guard was also at the spot during the attack, he said. According to the eyewitnesses in the preliminary investigation, it has come to the fore that the attacker was the only terrorist, who escaped after carrying out the incident.
