Joshimath Sinking: Snowfall can worsen the situation, know what is the latest situation

The changed weather in Joshimath of Uttarakhand has increased the concerns of the people. People are facing a lot of trouble due to snowfall. Due to the activation of Western Disturbance, it is raining from the sky. Joshimath, which was once buzzing with this snowfall, is now asking for a vow to stop it. The commotion within the land of Joshimath, a town built on rubble, has destroyed the homes of the people.

CM Dhami takes the lead

Pushkar Singh Dhami, the chief minister, is in charge. As soon as he arrived in Joshimath, he assessed the situation. The Chamoli district administration has received almost Rs 41 crore to distribute aid to those impacted by the calamity. More than 678 homes have reported cracks thus far. Additionally, the chance exists that these breaches will widen as a result of snowfall. The likelihood of crumbling and cracking in deteriorated buildings may also rise.

Center assigns a team of experts

The Center has assembled a team of specialists from 7 different organisations to evaluate the situation in Joshimath and provide their recommendations following a high-level discussion. The task of assessing the situation and providing information has been given to experts from the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), National Institute of Disaster Management, Geological Survey of India, IIT Roorkee, Wadia Institute of Himalayan Geology, National Institute of Hydrology, and Central Building Research Institute.
