There has been a loud blast on Friday morning in Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan. According to the information, this explosion has happened in an education center in Kabul. About 100 people are reported to have died in the blast. The casualties are likely to increase. There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack, police said.
According to media reports, the blast took place at Kaj School in Dasht-e-Barchi area, west of the city. Bilal Sarwari, a local journalist, tweeted, “We have counted 100 bodies of students so far. The number of students killed is very high. The class was full of children during the blast. Sarvari narrated the horrors that he saw a school teacher lifting the bodies of the children. The blast was so strong that the bodies of many children were damaged. A video before the explosion has also been shared on Twitter. He wrote that there are continuous attacks in Dasht-e-Barchi area in western Kabul.
Police spokesman Khalid Zadran said, "The students were preparing for the examination when a suicide bomber attacked this educational center. Karen Decker, in charge of the US mission in Afghanistan, said in a tweet: "The US strongly condemns today's attack on the Kaz Higher Education Center. It is shameful to target a room full of students taking exams." At present, security teams are present at the spot and information is being gathered regarding the attack.
