Karnataka Election 2023: The Karnataka Legislative Assembly elections have concluded their campaign and the ruling parties - BJP, Congress and JD(S) - in Karnataka are fully prepared for the upcoming grand battle of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. For the BJP, which is in power at the Centre, the Karnataka election before the Lok Sabha elections is a significant test. Among the southern states, Karnataka is critical and the only state where the BJP holds power.

The election, which will be held for 224 assembly seats in Karnataka, will witness a total of 2,615 candidates vying for the win. With 58,545 polling stations across the state, 5,31,33,054 voters will be casting their votes. Out of these voters, 2,67,28,053 are male, 2,64,00,074 are female, 11,71,558 are young voters, 5,71,281 are differently-abled, and 12,15,920 are above the age of 80. The candidates include 2,430 males, 184 females, and one from the other gender. The Karnataka election is, therefore, expected to be a closely-watched and interesting contest
