Farmers are marching to Delhi once again. The mobilization of farmers at Delhi's Ramlila Maidan has started from Monday. Rashtriya Swayam Sevak Sangh's organization Bharatiya Kisan Sangh ie BKS is organizing a 'Kisan Garjana' rally in the capital Delhi. BKS has taken to the streets against the Modi government at the Center for its demands related to the farmers.
A BKS member said that they demand relief measures from the government including the withdrawal of GST on agricultural activities and an increase in financial assistance provided under the 'PM-Kisan' scheme. The note released by BKS said, "If the demands of the farmers are not taken care of on time, then the state and central governments will have to face trouble." The farmers demanded the abolition of permission for the commercial production of genetically modified crops and remunerative prices for their produce on a cost basis.
Farmers demand that the government should fulfill its promise on MSP. Also, agriculture should be freed from GST. Along with this, Bharatiya Kisan Union demands that the amount of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi should be increased in proportion to the increased cost of farming, along with subsidy in grains, and financial assistance should be given to farmers through DBT. Along with this, a demand has also been made to give licenses to the farmers to do business with their produce.
