IAS Salary:

An IAS officer is selected on the basis of the final cut-off after clearing the UPSC Civil Services Examination. After clearing the UPSC Civil Services Examination, all the selected candidates are called for training at the Lal Bahadur Shastri Training Academy, Mussoorie, from where their journey to become an IAS begins. 

It must be noted that  IAS officers do not get any salary in the first month of their training. The salary of an IAS officer increases on the basis of his rank and promotion. In this article further, let’s know more about the salary system of an IAS officer from training to the highest post:

The basic salary of IAS salary after the 7th pay commission:

According to the 7th Pay Commission, now every IAS officer will get his basic salary and according to TA, DA, HRA, and after every promotion, there is a hike in the salary of an IAS officer.

Dearness Allowance (DA) is fixed at 0% at the time of joining IAS officers, which is increased with time. The salary of all IAS officers starts at the same level and then increases with their tenure and promotions. The basic pay at the entry-level increases by 3% each year at the introductory level. At the cabinet secretary level, it is fixed. Dearness Allowance increases by 0-14% every year at the entry-level. At the highest level, DA may increase.
