Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Aligarh today to lay the foundation stone of Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh State University. Who was Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh?

Born on 1st December 1886, Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh was a freedom fighter, journalist, writer, revolutionary, social reformer, and great charity of India. Raja Mahendra Pratap was popularly known as 'Aryan Peshwa' and was the chairman of the Provisional Government of India. This government was formed during the First World War and operated from outside India. Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh established the 'Executive Board of India' in Japan in 1940 during World War II. Together with his college mates, he also participated in the Balkan War in 1911. Remembering his services, the Government of India has issued a postage stamp in his memory.

Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh died on 29th April 1979 and was 92 years old then.

PM Modi laid the foundation of Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh State University in Aligarh:

As we all know that, PM Modi today, i.e., on Tuesday laid the foundation stone of Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh State University in Aligarh. During this, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Governor Anandiben Patel were also present. During the program, PM Modi addressed the entire country from Uttar Pradesh. 

Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh State University, Aligarh:

This university will be built on more than 92 acres of land of the Lodha and Moosepur Karim Jarauli villages of Kol tehsil of Aligarh. 395 colleges of the Aligarh division will be affiliated with it. Approval has been given for the construction works of the university for administrative buildings, academic buildings, hostel, residential buildings, etc. at a cost of Rs.101.41 crore.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also addressed the public during the program. During this, he also mentioned the Coronavirus pandemic and thanked PM Modi for how the Covid-19 vaccine is being administered to everyone in the country. He said that India has become an example for the world under the leadership of PM Modi. At the same time, he said that the Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh State University will give a boost to the state as well as the country in the field of education.
