Rahul Gandhi was adamant to go to Lakhimpur Kheri from Lucknow airport in his own vehicle while the police and administration wanted to take him through their vehicles. Due to this, the Lucknow airport ruckus went on for about 20 minutes and Rahul Gandhi sat on protest. However, followed by that, a 5-member Congress delegation led by Rahul Gandhi reached Sitapur from Lucknow airport and is now going to Lakhimpur Kheri.

Rahul Gandhi's statement while sitting on the protest:

Talking to the media during the protest, Rahul Gandhi had said that 'we have to go to Lakhimpur Kheri in our car but they (police) want us to go with them in their car. It means they are doing some kind of bullying that's why we are sitting here.

Rahul Gandhi had further said that 'we have to go to Lakhimpur Kheri in our car. They want us to go with them in their car. I am a citizen of the country, why are you not letting me go? Earlier they said that you can go in your car, now they are saying that you will go in the police car.’
