Lakhimpur Kheri Violence: Govt. & farmers organization agree over compensation of Rs. 45 lakh and job to those deceased

Lakhimpur Kheri Violence:

The government has announced compensation for those killed in the Lakhimpur violence in Uttar Pradesh.

The Yogi Adityanath government of the state has announced a compensation of Rs 45 lakh to the kin of each of the person killed in the violence and a government job to one person from the family. At the same time, Rs 10 lakh each has been announced for the ones injured in the Lakhimpur incident. At the same time, for a fair investigation of the incident, the government will conduct a judicial inquiry into the matter by a retired judge of the High Court.

After the Lakhimpur incident, political agitation increased in the state, and leaders of all parties were trying to use this issue in their interest to shine their politics. However, the Uttar Pradesh administration has banned the entry of leaders of political parties in the district after the incident took place.

Uttar Pradesh ADG (Law and Order) Prashant Kumar said section 144 of CrPC has been imposed in the violence-hit Lakhimpur Kheri district and no political party leader is allowed to come here. He said that there is no bar for the members of farmer organizations to visit the place.

Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi, who came out to meet farmers in Lakhimpur Kheri, was detained by Sitapur police at Hargaon at 4 AM. Priyanka went on a fast in police custody and said that till the time she does not meet the families of farmers and other farmers, she will not take food.

While Samajwadi Party (SP) President Akhilesh Yadav was stopped from going to Lakhimpur, after which he sat on a dharna along with his supporters. After some time Akhilesh was taken into custody by the police. Meanwhile, some chaotic elements set a police vehicle on fire near Gautampalli police station.
