The violence that took place In Lakhimpur Kheri on Sunday, is fueling the outrageous politics of Uttar Pradesh. The state opposition is continuously levying allegations on the Yogi government and are standing in solidarity with the farmers.
Earlier, on Monday, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, the General secretary of The Indian National Congress was going to meet the protesting and outrageous farmers in Lakhimpur Kheri, after the violent clash took place on Sunday. But she was stopped on the way and was arrested by the state police. This was opposed by her and she alleged the state government and police of forcefully barring her from meeting the annoyed farmers.
This wasn’t liked by her husband Robert Vadra as well, who lashed out at the state government for acting arbitrarily. He also targeted the Chief Minister of the state, Yogi Adityanath and said that whatever has been happening since few days in the state isn’t normal and needs to be attended. He advised the state government to carry out fair investigation of the case instead of trying to submerge it. He also slammed the state police for behaving unfairly with a woman and supported Priyanka Gandhi in her attempt to meet the annoyed farmers.He also expressed his concern for her security and said that the government claiming to protect women is itself seen misbehaving with a woman. He warned the state government and told that if the government continues behaving so, the congress workers from all around the country will reach Lakhimpur Kheri and will stand in support of farmers.
On Sunday, a violent clash broke out in Lakhimpur Kheri, in which 8 persons lost their lives. It is being alleged that the son of Union Minister Ajay Kumar Mishra, rammed his car into the protesting farmers, in which three farmers lost their lives, following which the farmers turned violent and killed three BJP workers and a driver. A media person also lost his life in the clash
