Lakhimpur Kheri Violence:

The Yogi Adityanath government of Uttar Pradesh has refused permission to the Congress delegation led by Rahul Gandhi to visit Lakhimpur Kheri. After the incident, Section 144 is in force here since 3rd October, in the Lakhimpur district. Earlier, Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal had sought permission from the state government to allow a Congress delegation to visit the area.

Congress alleges UP government of discrimination:

The Congress has told the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh that the state government has allowed leaders of several political parties from Uttar Pradesh and a major party from West Bengal (Trinamool Congress) to visit Lakhimpur Kheri, but Congress leaders aren’t allowed. KC Venugopal demanded that the Congress delegation should also be allowed to visit. Congress sources in Lucknow said that all the preparations related to Rahul Gandhi's arrival in Lucknow are being made.

Earlier, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut had met Rahul Gandhi. After the meeting, he had said that he had also discussed Congress chief Rahul Gandhi’s visit to Lakhimpur Kheri. Before the meeting, he had also said that Priyanka Gandhi has been arrested, so it is necessary to meet Rahul Gandhi. He had said, if the law is the same for all, then why is Priyanka Gandhi in jail and ministers roaming freely.

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra expressed her discontent over Twitter:

Earlier, Priyanka Gandhi had asked questions to PM Narendra Modi by sharing a video related to Lakhimpur violence on Twitter. Priyanka Gandhi had announced that the police can arrest her if they want, but she would not return without meeting the farmer families.

SHO of Hargaon police station said that apart from Priyanka Gandhi, a case has been registered against 11 people including MP Deepender Singh Hooda, Congress state president Ajay Kumar Lallu under sections of breach of peace.

Earlier, while releasing a video on her official Twitter account, Priyanka Gandhi wrote, “This video shows the son of a minister of your government crushing farmers under a car. Watch this video and tell this country why this minister was not sacked and why this boy has not been arrested yet. You have kept opposition leaders like me in custody without any order and FIR.” She further questioned that why is this man still roaming free?
