The Violence in Lakhimpur might have come to rest but the politics on the matter doesn't seem like stopping anytime soon. After the visit of Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi and Akhilesh Yadav, it is now Navjot Singh Sidhu, who is heading towards Lakhimpur to meet the anguished Farmers.
Navjot Singh Sidhu has also warned the government that if Ashish Mishra doesn’t get arrested or appears for investigation till the next day, he’ll proceed towards indefinite fast to force the government to take action.
He also criticised the government through his tweet in poetic way.
सियासत को लहू पीने की लत है , वर्ना मुल्क में सब ख़ैरियत है ।।#KisanMazdoorEktaZindabad— Navjot Singh Sidhu (@sherryontopp) October 7, 2021
The farmers have alleged that during last Sunday, when they were protesting against the three farm laws, an SUV car drove into them taking lives of 4 farmers. The SUV is said to belong to Ashish Mishra, son of Union Home Minister for State Ajay Kumar Mishra. Hence, the farmers have accused Ashish Mishra for the accident. The car’s crash was followed by a violent behaviour from farmers due to which they had a clash with BJP workers, in which 4 BJP workers lost their lives.
The entire opposition is trying to target the CM Yogi's government on the matter and the incident and has also made the Congress party very active in the state politics. The general-secretary of the Indian National Congress, Priyanka Gandhi, went to meet the families of deceased farmers along with Rahul Gandhi. The significance of incident has also increased due to the approaching UP assembly elections 2022.
