Delhi Electricity Subsidy in “crisis”; LG claims Kejriwal government’s action as unlawful

Delhi Energy Subsidy News: The opposition is constantly attacking the Kejriwal government over Delhi’s electricity subsidies. The opposition claims that Delhi is struggling financially as a result of the electricity subsidies. In addition, LG Vinai Saxena’s stance on the electricity subsidy in the capital city currently appears severe. 

LG Saxena recently had a meeting with the officials. After this, the Delhi Government was called to account for the fact that it still hadn’t received cabinet clearance for the electricity subsidy. For many years, Delhi residents have received electricity subsidies without the cabinet’s consent, which is blatantly against the law.

Bill to be passed within 15 days

Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena has directed the Chief Secretary to present the electricity bill subsidy issue to the cabinet, and a decision should be made in the next 15 days. The process of providing electricity subsidies in Delhi won’t move further till after this. Also, the electricity distribution firms had complained to the Chief Secretary about this issue, claiming that the fixed subsidy was only good for 5 kW and that the laws of commercial transactions were broken.
