A fire broke out at Hotel Levana in Hazratganj, the heart of Uttar Pradesh's capital Lucknow, on Monday. Two have died due to the raging fire, while seven of the 18 injured are serious. They have been admitted to the Civil Hospital. 12-14 vehicles of the fire brigade are trying to control the fire.

The trapped people have been evacuated and sent to the Civil Hospital. Chief Medical Superintendent of Civil Hospital Dr. RP Singh said that so far 7 people have been admitted. On this occasion, Health Minister and Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak reached the spot of Levana Hotel in Hazratganj Hotel. He said that the government will bear the full cost of the treatment of the injured. Work is being done to bring information to the families of the two persons who have died. The Deputy CM said that strict action will be taken if negligence of anyone is found. He also said that, 'The UP government will send an advisory to all the districts today itself, under which it will be asked to ensure strict compliance of all the standards including fire safety measures in hotels and other public institutions.'
