Magh Mela 2023: Magh Mela begins in Prayagraj, devotees take a dip of faith at Sangam

Magh Mela 2023: The bathing ceremony of Paush Purnima has officially started off from the Magh Mela, the largest annual religious fair in the world to be hosted on the Sangam coast in Prayagraj. Thousands of devotees gathered at the Sangam on this occasion to take a sacred bath. The adherents' unwavering faith was unaffected by the bitter cold, heavy fog, and strong winds. For the fair, the Sangam sands have been transformed into a separate tent city. Special security procedures have also been implemented this time around in addition to this.

More than 5 crore devotees are expected to attend this religious fair, which lasts for a complete month. There are 100 Covid assistance stations set up and special security has been deployed  for this religious gathering known as the Magh Mela looking at the rising corona cases in the country. Free masks are being distributed to the followers, and thermal screening is also being done. Inviting billboards have also been put up on behalf of CM Yogi and PM Modi. The Magh Mela's theme for this year is a clean and safe fair.
