Events are changing rapidly in the politics of Maharashtra. The split among Shiv Sena MLAs is getting more intense, while the Shinde camp is getting stronger. On Wednesday, Eknath Shinde had claimed the support of 46 MLAs, including 37 from Shiv Sena. Since then, seven more MLAs have switched sides, making the Shinde camp more powerful. At the same time, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut has claimed the support of 20 MLAs. Talking to reporters on Thursday, Raut claimed that 20 MLAs are in support of Shiv Sena.
Raut further said that even today our party is strong. Under what circumstances and under what pressure they left us, it will be revealed soon. He said that it will be revealed when the MLAs come to Mumbai. One who leaves the party under ED pressure cannot be a devotee of Balasaheb.
Quoting sources, it is being said that 42 MLAs are staying at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Guwahati. All these MLAs are with Eknath Shinde. Sources said that among them 34 are from Shiv Sena and 8 are Independent MLAs.
Earlier on Wednesday, CM Uddhav Thackeray came forward and spoke on the political crisis. Uddhav made an emotional appeal to the Shiv Sainiks and said that he is ready to give up not only the post of Chief Minister, but also the post of Shiv Sena chief, but any of our Shiv Sainiks themselves should come before me and ask. Thackeray said that I will be happy if a Shiv Sainik becomes the Chief Minister after I step down from the post of Chief Minister. Later party spokesperson Sanjay Raut clarified that Uddhav will not resign from the post of Chief Minister. If given an opportunity, he will show it by proving majority in the assembly.
