Makar Sankranti 2022: Government issues Guidelines for Ganga Sanan and Kite Flying amid Covid-19

Makar Sankranti 2022: While the country is all set to celebrate the first festival of the year, the shadow of Covid-19 is again getting darker and stronger. This year too, people will have to stay at home and celebrate the harvest festival of Makar Sankranti with minimal gatherings and following the guidelines of the pandemic. Government has issued guidelines for the devotees who will be taking bath in holy Ganga and for the general public to avoid public gatherings like for kite flying. 


Makar Sankranti 2022 Guidelines amid Omicron in Haridwar

According to the guidelines, this time the government has banned the ‘Ganga Sanan’ at Haridwar and other big river banks of Ganga. Haridwar DM Vinay Shankar Pandey has issued some guidelines amid the rising cases of coronavirus and asked devotees not to gather around temples and Ghat to take the holy dip on Makar Sankranti. 

In case of the violation of guidelines and protocols, strict actions will be taken against people. 

Similar band and restrictions are also imposed in Rishikesh on the day. 

Actually every year devotees gather around the ghat of Ganga to take the holy dip on the auspicious day of Makar Sankranti. This has been a trationd for ages. But the advent of pandemic has fluctuated our normal and many things have been compromised for safety. 


Uttarayan 2022 Guidelines amid Covid-19 in Gujrat

According to the latest guidelines by the State Home Department of Gujrat, the Kite FLying festival has also been banned. People can not gather around streets, parks, open grounds and fests to fly kites. They are only allowed to enjoy the festival while staying at home and flying on their respective terrace. 

Ban has also been imposed for the large gatherings on terraces or inside residential societies, guests, friends or relatives residing at other places.  Along with that DJs and loudspeakers on the terrace or in the society will also be banned.
