Bengal BJP led by its veteran leaders has launched a campaign against Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. Under this, all the workers are taking out a march towards the state secretariat Naban. According to media reports, the protesters in Howrah broke the barricades and moved ahead. At the same time, the police used water cannons on the protesters. This protest started with a peace march but now it is taking a fierce form. The police have detained many big leaders and activists including Shubendu Adhikari, MP Locket Chatterjee.

BJP leader detained

BJP leader and Leader of Opposition in Bengal Assembly Suvendu Adhikari have been taken into custody. On the other hand, Bengal BJP chief Sukant Majumdar has been arrested. All these Nabans were going to join the march. At the same time, after being taken into custody, Suvendu said that this is a peaceful movement. This is a ruckus against corruption and unemployment. The people of Bengal are not with Mamta ji, so she is doing dictatorship in Bengal like North Korea. Apart from Suvendu, Rahul Sinha and Locket Chatterjee have also been arrested.

Police used water cannons and tear gas shells to stop and disperse BJP workers in Howrah's Santragachi area amid a call for Naban Chalo march. During this, the agitated workers also pelted stones. There are also reports of some people getting injured.

BJP booked trains for the march

The BJP had also booked several trains for the Nabanna march to bring its party members and supporters from different parts of the state to Mahanagar and Howrah. Of these, three were hired from North Bengal and four from South Bengal. BJP workers are also trying to reach for the Nabanna campaign by buses but they are being stopped by the police.
