5 states will be holding assembly elections in 2022 and hence, all the parties are preparing and are ready to enter the electoral competition. But talking about the oldest party of the country Indian National Congress, the party is facing so many internal conflicts that resolving them is the biggest challenge in front of the party’s high command. From internal dispute in Punjab to opposition by own leaders in Rajasthan, Congress party is not able to come out of the civil war going within the party.
Now, the party has faced yet another challenge as its senior leader and former Union Minister Manish Tewari has raised allegations over the UPA government led by Manmohan Singh from 2004- 2014 in his book. Manish attacked Manmohan’s government for not retaliating against Pakistan after the terrorist attack in Mumbai in 2008.
Manish Tewari has written a book which will be released for general public to read soon. In his book he has questioned the former government over the 26/11 Mumbai attacks. He wrote that the country should have given a befitting reply to the terrorist groups of Pakistan after the attacks were conducted in Mumbai on 26 November, 2008. He also wrote that not retaliating is an indication of weakness and if the country doesn’t mourn and feel sad for the death of innocent people then patience doesn’t depicts power instead depicts weakness.
In his book, Manish said that 26/11 was an incident when instead of words, action should have been taken. Bharatiya Janata Party also started targeting Congress over the statement of Manish Tewari in his book.
National spokesperson of BJP, Shehzad Poonawala said, “Manish Tewari has rightly slammed UPA govt for weakness in name of restrain after 26/11 in his upcoming book.. Air Chief Marshal Fali Major has already said that IAF wanted to take revenge for 26/11 , UPA blocked it. Congress was busy blaming Hindus for 26/11 & saving Pakistan”
BJP’s leader Shahnawaz Hussain and other party members also said that Manish Tiwari has rightly alleged Congress party in his book.
