The country's largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki India has entered the mid-size SUV segment with its new car Grand Vitara. The Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara 2022 will be the first car in its segment to come with a self-charging electric hybrid variant. Maruti Suzuki will share the electric hybrid technology cleaner powertrain with Toyota, which had earlier introduced the Urban Cruiser Hyder SUV with similar technology. Talking about the features of Maruti Grand Vitara, it will get luxurious interiors, leather wrapped steering wheels and seats, ventilated seats, excellent dashboard, wireless Android Auto and 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay support, panoramic sunroof, head Many special standard and safety features will be seen including -up display, 360-degree camera, connected car technology and multiple airbags.
The Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara will have distinct exterior elements like a mesh grille and split headlamp setup, ORVMs with turn indicators, dual-tone alloy wheels, a rear wiper, a shark fin antenna, and a high-mount stop lamp make the SUV look unique. According to media reports, this SUV will be offered with dual-tone front, honeycomb grille, split LED headlamps, dual LED DRLs, sporty bumpers, C-shaped taillamps and 17-inch alloy wheels.
The technical specifications of the SUV are not yet known. However, Maruti Suzuki could make use of the 1.5-litre K15B petrol powertrain that currently does duty on the S-Cross, XL6, Ciaz, and the Ertiga.
The upcoming Maruti Vitara will compete with other popular midsize SUVs including Hyundai Creta, MG Aster, Kia Seltos and Skoda Kushak. The price of Maruti Vitara will be more than Rs 10 lakh.
