MCD Mayor Election: Who is Shelly Oberoi? Whom AAP made the candidate for the post of mayor of MCD

Aam Aadmi Party has announced its candidate for the post of Mayor for Municipal Corporation of Delhi. Shelly Oberoi will be the candidate for the post of Mayor for MCD from AAP. This decision was taken in the PAC meeting of Aam Aadmi Party. The Mayor and the Deputy Mayor will be for 3 months and the members of the Standing Committee will be for 1 year. 6 names were discussed in the PAC meeting. Of these, 4 are for the Standing Committee.

Who is Shelly Oberoi? 

Shelly Oberoi, 39, is an elected councilor of West Delhi's East Patel Nagar ward. He is working on the post of Assistant Professor in Delhi University. She is also a Lifetime Member of the Indian Commerce Association. He has a Doctorate in Philosophy from the School of Management Studies (SOMS), Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU). Oberoi is also a recipient of best paper award in various national and international conferences and gold medalist in ICA conference. (Professor Manubhai Shah Award).

The term will be till 31 March

Notification has been issued for the election of Mayor of Municipal Corporation of Delhi and the last date for filing nomination is Tuesday 27 December 2022. At the same time, the nomination can be withdrawn anytime before the election. The Mayor of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi will be elected through secret ballot. The tenure of the Mayor in MCD is from 1st April to 31st March. That's why the tenure of the first mayor will be only till 31st March. The meeting of the House will be held at the Civic Centre, the headquarters of the MCD on Minto Road.
